In recent decades, the structure of the family has undergone several changes and alterations which reflect the present age. Many of these transformations are the result of the new global media, the communication revolution, satellites, and the globalization of cultures as well as the change in the conceptions of social roles, the clash of such conceptions and the economic needs which directly affect the family. Such factors have also made several cracks in the structure of the family and weakened its very basis resulting in a state where minor family problems would be aggravated to develop into major ones. One of the most serious of these problems is domestic violence in all its forms, and its grave consequences on the family and its structure. |
